As the Director of Digital Media at National Oilwell Varco (NOV), I oversaw the implementation of all digital initiatives for the company, from strategy ideation and defense, to tactical execution and analysis. I hired, trained, managed and mentored a highly creative team of content editors, front-end web developers, user experience professionals, third party vendors and project managers to deliver a digital transformation for the company that elevated NOV to an award-winning digital company.
In my role, I was intimately involved in the strategic positioning and messaging of the company in all marketing channels, including print advertisement, brochures, events, publications and social media. I led the initiative to develop a thought leadership content strategy that started with an extensive editorial calendar for the company’s website and eventually culminated in a fully defined and integrated inbound content marketing platform aligned with the company’s long-term operating strategy.
Perhaps most importantly, I offer a diverse and broad background. I hail from Plovdiv, Bulgaria, the most charmingly hectic little town that also happens to be 6,000 years old. I moved to the US when I was nineteen to attend college and experience the quintessential American life. And that I did: I graduated from a small school in the outskirts of Pittsburgh, PA in 2008 with a degree in Marketing Management and minors in Studio Art and Communications.
